Reichel/Pugh 69 Intuition

Launched in 2008 as Bella Mente out of the famous New England Boatworks, she was ahead of her time and set the benchmark for race yachts to come. The Reichel/Pugh design was one of the first IRC optimised designs as the rating system become the world standard. The IRC rating allowed for a lighter overall boat with a longer keel fin with a higher displacement in the bulb. The design also incorporated, the now standard, wide flat powerful stern section for additional stability. The yacht pioneered the use of hydraulic rams for jib trimming functions, internal halyard locks from Southern Spars and a flush deck for windage.

Bella Mente went on to become Wizard and now Intuition but continued with her winning ways under each new owner:
