Ker 40+ Elvis
Built by McConaghy and launched in 2017, Elvis is hull #5 of the highly successful Ker 40+ designed by Ker Design Ltd. The Ker 40+ design is a new development of the original Ker 40 design being a lighter more technologically advanced design. The Ker 40+ design lends itself to a great offshore performance on the IRC and ORC rating. McConaghy’s utilised the latest pre-peg epoxy Carbon Fibre with a foam core upgrade to accurately control build weight. Elvis is a clear beneficiary of these advancements made by Ker Design Ltd and McConaghy’s as she is a full Grand Prix racer which has been raced and optimised in the UK and established herself as a great performer in the Fast 40 Class.
Elvis has been immaculately maintained and dry sailed for her entire racing life which is only 4 events per year. For the remainder of the year, she is stored under cover on her own shipping cradle. Elvis has been continually upgraded to the latest racing systems throughout her career with the incorporation of a new dropline system and winch gearing upgrades. She has an upgraded carbon rudder and a raked back keel fin with optimised weight positioning of the bulb for better helm and weight distribution. She has also had a full re-fairing and respray of her entire hull and deck.
Elvis comes complete with a full Southern Spars package and boasts an extensive North Sails inventory using only the latest Grand Prix Materials. Elvis is without question one of the most competitive 40 footers on the market today and a great all round boat in the 40ft range.
