Soto 65 Camiranga
Launched from the M Boat yard in Argentina, this Javier Soto Acebal design is an incredible blend of racing performance and comfort. Her deck layout and racing performance is that of a grand prix offshore racing yacht. She boasts a well thought out, spacious and user-friendly deck and cockpit layout. While the interior has a full galley, two bathrooms and comfort downstairs for when you come off watch. When you come downstairs you would be forgiven for thinking you weren’t on a racing yacht that somewhat resembles a Volvo 70 from any aerial shots!
Javier Soto Acebal powerful hull design, canting keel and twin dagger boards make for a fast and exciting boat to race with some outstanding offshore performances. She offsets all the righting moment with a suit of North 3Di sails that maximise sail area with a square top main and narrow sheeting angles on the headsails. Off the wind she has an array of Mast head reaching and running sails. The rig and rigging package are full carbon and supplied from Southern Spars and Future Fibers respectively.
Her performances to date have been impressive by taking all the major line honours records around South America and doing so in style with all of her comfort’s downstairs. Camiranga’s comforts downstairs extend to a water maker, water heater, freezer, refrigerator, ice machine, espresso machine, oven and stove, eight carbon beds with two bathrooms. All these onboard comforts with this sailing performance means that she makes an exception cruising boat as well as an exciting race yacht. Camiranga can only be described as a true hybrid racing yacht.
In true Camiranga style, the hydraulic package is from Cariboni hydraulics which are renowned for supplying all the top race yachts worldwide. The hydraulic package onboard Camiranga allows for full control of the sails, winches, canting keel and the daggerboards. In a race scenario additional hydraulic power can be generated by feeding the hydraulic pump from both the main engine and the generator. With everything being controlled hydraulically it makes Camiranga a very easy and reliable race yacht. In cruising mode, the boat has a sophisticated large battery bank that allows you to sail quietly for many hours.
Camiranga comes with a top-level offshore navigation and communication setup with multiple redundancies for reliability when doing long distance racing or cruising. The race navigation processor is from Faro which then provides real time feedback on sailing performance when racing or cruising at speed!
